52 Pick Up...Well Maybe 51 or 48 ...

I'm really not sure how many cards are in the deck. I know I've already used a couple in larger collages.

But now they are going to be collages on their own. I'm not going to promise one a day but I'll see how close I can get. Working small like this is intriguing, especially since my paintings keep getting larger.

This is installment #1 - 3 of Spades. Yes, the surface of the collage is a 3.5" x 2.5" playing card. The trees are part of a small pen & ink and watercolor I did last week. I imagine you'll see the other half fairly soon!

Dust off the Blog

I think I've finally found a use for the blog with my favorite nickname.

Every now and then I break out my weird stash of scavaged stuff and do a few collages. Some are just quirky. Some are deep. I'll let you figure out which is which.

These two I completed this weekend in the company of a very dear friend. In fact, the only friend I have kept up with since high school. She is an artist as well and we talked shop while creating all weekend and pondered the possibility of our very county high school doing a 20th reunion next year.

I'll start adding my older mixed media to this site as well as continuing with new creations.
