Behind but not gone!

I haven't forgot my blog followers! Due to travelers, flu, bad hard drive, and a general "more to do than time for" my Paintings a Day have been suspended for ...oh..a while. I'll be lucky to do once a week.

After next week is Spring Break and my Winter Session of Art School ends. I've pared down my teaching schedule and rearranged my classes to be more conducive to painting! I'm also expanding the "creative space" of my studio into my office/library to handle the overflow of artwork and supplies from my teaching.

Some cool news though! The children's book I illustrated last December is now in print and available through the publisher and Amazon. Book Illustration

This week has seen the end of two major projects for me..wall paintings and a children's book illustrations. The majority of my time was spent on the illustrations. The book is about bullying and was written by a teacher a my younger kids' school. I completed 21 8"x10" pastel illustrations as well as a cover. It was quite a challenge as the children were more of a "cartoony" style than I am used too. I'm pleased with most of the illustrations, wish I had time to redo some, very proud of some..overall I think it is going to print nicely. I'll post more info after it goes into print.
