Accepted to Artfest!

Wow..times flies when not posting!

I've been busy this past month with the more of the business side of my art career. Winter Session ended and Spring Session has begun (as of yesterday!).

I spent Spring Break making the Summer Camp schedule and rearranging the studio. It looks really nice and has a lot more room!

The BIG news...I got a "Congratulations" letter from Artfest that I was accepted to have a display booth. Artfest is held over Memorial Day weekend in Addison. I'm very excited but I need to paint!

The above painting is a pastel titled Affection. The inspiration was a photograph of horses on my parents' farm. Other than commissions, this will probably be my last pastel for a while as I concentrate on acrylics and oils for Artfest.

I really like your water color and pastel work. Have you ever worked with real lime plaster fresco?

I'm aging some batches of lime putty and I was thinking about trying a few panels for hanging around the house. But, I don't think my water color skills are up to the task. Maybe I could take the easy way out and use a projector to get the major tone areas down before working on details? Or take a class? Or hire an artist?
Congrats on Artfest.

Thanks for the comments!

I have never tried fresco painting before. It looks very labor intensive and unforgiving. Go for it though! If you are doing it on panels and not straight on your walls..that gives you plenty of oops power if you don't like what you do.
