Art Booth from Allen Harvestfest

This past October I did my first "real" booth show at the Allen Harvest Festival. It was mainly a kid event but I did gain a lot of interest (and experience)! This was the first time I used my new Pro-panel walls. They looked nice but a little bare! I need to paint more! Overall the day was very nice. During the last hour, the wind kicked up as it can in Texas and knocked over a table and ripped my tent! Lessons were learned that evening! Overall, it was a good experience and I'm hoping to be in a few more shows this spring.

Final Wall-Paintings

These are the final paintings for the wall-paintings I did for the nursery and toddler's room. It took a few revisions to get the right "look" but it was worth it! I wasn't sure if I was up to this type of painting genre, but I really enjoyed the project and I'm looking forward to pursuing more. The customer gave me some contact information for a store interested in artists so it is a new direction for me to pursue!

Book Illustration

This week has seen the end of two major projects for me..wall paintings and a children's book illustrations. The majority of my time was spent on the illustrations. The book is about bullying and was written by a teacher a my younger kids' school. I completed 21 8"x10" pastel illustrations as well as a cover. It was quite a challenge as the children were more of a "cartoony" style than I am used too. I'm pleased with most of the illustrations, wish I had time to redo some, very proud of some..overall I think it is going to print nicely. I'll post more info after it goes into print.

Still Painting Walls

Yesterday the weather was too iffy (yes..threat of ice in Texas keeps me off the roads!) but today I got busy with more wall painting. One more to go in this room.

This week is the big crunch for me and the children's book I am illustrating. Looks for pics and updates on that project on Monday.
